Message To Howell Family From Activities Director Sean Erwin
I hope that all of you are having a great summer and have had or will have the opportunity to spend time with family and friends. The memories that come from vacations, outings and family celebrations during the summer last a lifetime.
As we head into the 2019-20 school year, the Howell Activities Department is preparing for another successful year. We are currently preparing many new opportunities and efforts that will put a heavy emphasis on the "Howell Family." The students, parents, staff and fans of our Howell activities, clubs and sports make up our Howell Family and are at the forefront of creating great memories and experiences not only for Howell but also for our community. As we close in on the start of fall sports you will begin to see an increased emphasis on trust and our values (R.I.S.E. - Respect, Integrity, Sportsmanship, Excellence) within the Howell Family. A Howell Family environment where "family" means we support all programs and each other, celebrate accomplishments and have each others backs while representing Howell in a positive way is our main goal.
Over the course of the year we hope to continue to grow the reach of the "Howell Family" and hope to get more of our students, staff, families and community engaged with Howell. There has never been a better time to be a Viking and we look forward to continuing to grow and improve our programs and the experiences for those in our family. As we get closer to the start of school we hope to share more with you about our "Howell Family" efforts and look forward to having all of you involved in making Howell and our programs the best they can be for the 2019-20 school year!

New Student Physical Requirements For MSHSAA Sponsored Activities & Sports
MSHSAA recently changed their requirement for student physicals required for activity/athletic participation. In the past physicals were to be completed annually. However, effective immediately, physicals are now valid for 2 years (730 days) from the date of issue. Therefore, for the 2019-20 school year, physicals dated February 1, 2019 and later will be valid for the 2019-20 and 2020-21 school year **.
**Please note that if you are involved in a winter or spring sport, during the 2020-21 school year you could potentially need a physical in the middle or prior to the season to meet the 2 year requirement depending on the date of your physical.
If you have any further questions or need clarification please contact the Activities Department.
