1st Snow Day & Weather Team Warm-Up
First Weather Event of the Year... Are You Ready?
Dear BCS Community:
The first winter weather event of the school year is here! It's time to put your family preparedness plan into play...and to welcome back the BCS Weather Watch Team, aka Suzy Snowflake.
BERKELEY COUNTY SCHOOLS, INCLUDING PRE-K, WILL BE CLOSED THURSDAY, DECEMBER 15TH. EVENING ACTIVITIES FOR DEC. 15TH ARE CANCELED. Please monitor our website for the status of the Board of Education Special Meeting scheduled for 5 pm.
Periods of freezing rain and sleet will move into our area this evening and throughout the night creating measurable ice accumulation affecting the morning commute.
It is our goal and commitment that we make the best and most informed decision as quickly as possible and communicate that to our school community to assist with implementing your preparedness plan. To learn more about the decision process, click HERE.
PLEASE MONITOR OFFICIAL BCS SOCIAL MEDIA ACCOUNTS LISTED WHEN CLICKING HERE.
REMINDER: The BCS school community will observe 5 snow days. The first 5 snow days missed due to inclement weather will not be made up using the equivalent time option and will not require additional instructional days to be added to the school calendar.
As always, your patience, cooperation, and understanding are appreciated.

Ronald E. Stephens, IV., Superintendent of Schools
