Updates for MIS, Computer Science, Math, & Statistics
Greetings from your Career Consultant!
In case we have not met yet, my name is Samantha Perrin and I am the Career Consultant for MIS, MBT, Computer Science, Math, Statistics, and Artificial Intelligence. I have worked at UGA since July 2016 and have enjoyed getting to know some of you and your students. I am excited to update you all on some events and resources from the Career Center.
I appreciate the partnerships I have made with faculty and staff in each of these departments. Please continue to refer students to me about any career-related topics. I encourage students to begin meeting with me as early as their first year on campus to help develop a career plan to help them prepare for success.
Remember that I am also available for in-class presentations! If you would like me to come speak to your class about a career-related topic, please email me the following information:

How to Meet with Samantha
Additionally, I offer several walk-in and drop-in hours every week. No appointments are necessary for these hours. I typically meet with students for 10-15 minutes to answer their quick career questions.
My complete schedule of walk-in/drop-in hours are:
Tuesday, 12:00-2:00pm, Career Center Multipurpose Room
Wednesday, 1:00-3:00pm, Boyd 523B
Thursday, 2:30-4:30, Casey Commons, Amos Hall
As a reminder, the Career Center holds walk-in hours every day of the week from 12-2. I personally work on Tuesdays; however, students are able to see any consultant during these days/times. Walk-in and drop-in hours begin on the first day of class.
The Career Center Got a Makeover!
Career Center Resource Highlight - Big Interview
The Career Center will be offering a new online mock interview service to students this fall - Big Interview. Big Interview includes both a learning and practice component. Students are able to go through either video or written modules to learn more about proper interviewing etiquette and how to answer interview questions. They are also able to choose from hundreds of interview questions to practice.
After recording an answer, students are able to send their video responses to any email address for review.
Big Interview offers the ability for faculty or staff to create assignments for students. If you are interested in requiring your students to complete a mock interview online for class credit, please feel free to contact me to set up an assignment.
Any student can create an account by visiting uga.biginterview.com and registering with a valid UGA email address.
