A Message from the Principal
5.16.22
Dear Holy Family Catholic School Community,
Last Thursday, under the direction of Mrs. Hurst, our talented 3rd graders demonstrated their love of music in the Create Peace program in the library. They also revealed their great human insight and empathy with their acrostic poems on peace! The first song that the students performed was an original piece of music composed by Mrs. Hurst.
Last Friday was an amazing and action-packed day with both Field Day and the Dads’ Club Golf Classic providing a great day for students and parents alike! Field Day was full of shrieks of delight, as one enthusiastic kindergartener put it, “I was born for this day!” Thanks go to Mrs. Barker for organizing the day.
The Golf Classic was at full capacity this year thanks to our generous parents and sponsors. Congratulations go to Mr. Jack Price for a successful Dads’ Club Golf Classic. Additional thanks go to Mrs. Griffith and Mrs. Head in their support of the event, as well as, the HFCC Knights of Columbus who cooked up the best BBQ in Fort Worth for the event.
Friday evening our HFCS Middle School Leadership Council hosted a middle school dance which students from St. George and St. Peter were invited to attend. The theme was NEON and the students had a great time dancing and glowing in the dark! Thanks go to Mrs. Price for organizing the dance, our student leaders, and all of the parents and teachers who chaperoned.
Two beloved Holy Family Catholic School traditions, the Pinning Ceremony and the Candle Mass Ceremony, will be held this Thursday, May 19, at our School Mass at 8:15am. These deeply touching ceremonies mark important rites of passage for our 7th graders and our 8th graders.
The Pinning Ceremony will be held before Mass. Each 8th grader has chosen a teacher to pin him or her, this teacher has been a significant role model and support in the student's journey through HFCS.
The Candle Mass Ceremony will be held after Communion. The 8th graders will symbolically pass the light of leadership to the 7th graders so they can carry on the school's mission next year.
After Mass, the 7th grade class will host a reception in the ABC rooms for the 8th graders and their parents.
We are all so excited for our eighth graders' upcoming graduation, and also sad to see them go - we will miss this special class!
Here is what we are planning for our eighth graders on Friday, May 20th:
- 8:30am Arrival and Car Parade
- Decorate your cars in celebration of your soon to be graduate
- 9:00am: Pep Rally in the Parking Lot
- Each grade level will present a cheer in honor of the Class of 2022
- 9:45am: 8th graders travel from classroom to classroom and get signatures on their t-shirts
- 10:30am: Homeroom activities
- 11:30am: Clap Out
- Parents, teachers and students gather in the library to clap out our 8th graders
- 5:30pm: Promotion Mass
- 8th graders will be seated in the center front rows
- Parents, friends and family will have reserved seating directly behind the 8th graders
We had a wonderful school-wide rosary this morning in honor of our Spiritual Mother, Mary. It is such a joy to be able to gather and pray together as a school community.
Thank you for the many ways that you support our great school!
Blessings,
Ann Walters
Principal
