AMPEd Running CLub
O’Dell Elementary is ready to continue AMPED (Amplifying Education with Activity), a grant-funded running program for grades 1-5 at our campus. Our school earned this grant through Kids in the Game and Active Schools, and we are excited to continue our AMPED program this year!
* AMPED will meet once a month after school from 3:30-4:15 p.m. for in-person events. Students MUST have arrangements for transportation home as this is an after-school program (there will not be any buses to take students home).
* If your child has a current doctor's note or note from parent excluding him/her from physical activities on that day, your child will be unable to participate in AMPED activities.
* AMPED dates will be announced soon!
Click on the link below to register your child. Registration deadline is tomorrow, September 24th.
Thank you,

Progress Reports next week
NEW CLOTHING DONATIONS NEEDED FOR NURSE’S OFFICE
Spills and accidents sometimes occur at school, especially with our younger students. Nurse Baker keeps extra clothing in her office for students when these incidents occur, but her supplies are running low. Currently the clinic needs girls' sweatpants with elastic waists in youth sizes.
Donated items must be new and unused and can be brought to the front office. Also, if your child has borrowed items from the clinic, please return the used items (cleaned!) to Nurse Baker.
Gifted and Talented
Applications for Celina ISD’s Gifted and Talented Services for students in grades 1-12 will be accepted Monday, September 27th, through Friday, October 8th. Any parent of a student who wishes to apply for GT screening should contact his/her child’s teacher to receive the appropriate forms and more information.

From the Counselor's Corner
RESPECT ACTIVITY: Hang a ruler somewhere in the house or make one out of a piece of paper and call it the “Respect Ruler.” Talk with your child about what each end of the ruler means – on one end is “disrespectful” and on the other is “respectful.” Anytime your child makes a choice that is disrespectful or respectful towards themselves or others, walk them to the “Respect Ruler” and have them self-identify where they think that choice was on the scale and why. Anytime your answer is different than theirs, talk about why!
