IIMCA's Cinco De Mayo Celebration Was A Success!
Cinco De Mayo was tons of fun for our scholars! The celebration was both entertaining, exciting, and historically educational. Our scholars learned about the history of Cinco De Mayo, the cultural significance of Mariachi music, and the impact of Chicano poetry.
Our scholars were entertained with live Mariachi Music that was supplied by an official Mariachi Band. The scholars were also amazed by the beautiful Folklorico Dances performed by our very own scholar, Sarah Castro, and her professional Folklorico dance team. Scholars enjoyed the show, while they also snacked on some Chips, and homemade Salsa! IIMCA had a blast celebrating Cinco De Mayo last week, special shout out to Ms. Martinez and her team , for organizing such an awesome celebration.

IIMCA Detention Update!
In order to hold our students accountable for their actions, IIMCA will be establishing an after school detention system. Detention will be held every Tuesday,Thursday,& Friday.
Detention will be ran after school, from 2:55 pm, until, 3:55 pm.
Detention will be supervised by professional IIMCA staff members.
Students will be issued detention for reasons including, but not limited to: fighting, uniform violations, being tardy to class, receiving a violation letter.
It is not our goal to be punitive, but it is a reality that, student thrive more in an environment where consequences are issued, when consequences are deserved. If your scholars continues to live up to the expectations of IIMCA, and continues to uphold all pillars of PRIDE, detention should not be a main matter of concern.
Thank you for your continued support of the IIMCA vision.
