Starting October 7 at Roosevelt, your child can be tested for COVID-19 at no cost each week!
- Every Thursday from 11 am - 12 pm, trained professionals from the Premier Medical Group will conduct the testing using the rapid antigen test.
- The rapid antigen test is a shallow nasal swab
- Results are texted to parents in 15 minutes.
- Testing is optional and requires parent registration. Click here to register your child.
- Do not come to school sick to be tested. If you're sick and need a COVID test, go to the YSD Student Family Center Testing Site (105 N. 4th Ave on Mondays - Fridays from 1:00 - 5:00 pm).
This week, we don't have a new Second Step lesson. Instead, your child practice Growth Mindset & Goal-Setting lessons from the past 3 weeks on paying attention, handling mistakes, working toward goals, and managing unhelpful thoughts. Please keep practicing these skills at home! Here's a 1-minute video from Common Sense Media with helpful information (English and Spanish).
Here's what colleague Mrs. Dawn Perez wrote when nominating Mrs. Tucker:
- I am pleased to share the Spirit of the Bear Award with Cheryl Tucker. I am so grateful to work alongside Mrs. Tucker during small group reading! I appreciate her positive spirit that fills our classroom. “You are good readers and decoding big words” and “You’re being a good friend and helping each other out” are only a few of the encouraging words I’ve overheard her use with her students. She has bucket-filling words for all of them! Cheryl is a sweet life-saver during our very intentional learning time!
Thanks Mrs. Tucker your talent and hard work with our Roosevelt Bears!
