If you want to send something in as your child's birthday treat-please send something other than food

We realize that birthdays are special and that students enjoy bringing a shared treat for their class. We have not shared food as birthday treats for several years now. We do allow a classroom game or book if you would like to donate, and some students have brought pencils and/or special erasers to share. There is no expectation for them to bring anything, but we do ask that no food items are sent to be shared. Thank you!

Walk-In Interviews

School Bus Drivers
March 8
March 15
March 22

Our UCS bus drivers make a difference every day in the lives of our students. UCS drivers are the first person students see every morning and the last at the end of the day. We are looking for individuals who want to help drive the future for our students.

If you are interested in becoming a bus driver, walk in interviews are being held on March 8, 15 and 11 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at our UCS Auxiliary Services Department, 6600 18 Mile Rd, Sterling Heights, MI 48314.

This is a great opportunity for individuals who are looking for a full or part time job that follows the school calendar. For more information, please visit https://www.uticak12.org/driverseat.

Graebner Gatherings

What? Once a month, classes will buddy up with another classroom. The teachers will co teach an age appropriate lesson concerning social skills and/or following school rules and procedures.

When? Feb. 8, March 1, April 12, May 1.

Why? This practice supports our Positive Behavior Intervention System (PBIS), our use of appropriate social skills and brings us closer as a school community. It introduces students to other peers and other adults/teachers in the building.

Doug Sheer Assemblies (This month is the THIRD and last of 3 Assemblies Doug will bring to Graebner this year)

Arrival/Dismissal/Parking Lot

Thank you for using the drop off area in the morning! It makes the traffic flow much faster.

Thank you for for a right turn only onto Saal Road out of the lot during arrival and dismissal.

Thank you for only parking in designated parking spots in the front lot only.

Please use the cross walk when walking students from a parking spot. The cross walk is between the two large red cones in front of the busses in the morning and between the first buss and the rest of the busses in the pm. Walking between the busses, even if the driver sees you, is very unsafe for both you and your student (s).

Students are always accompanied by an adult in the lot. This is for your safety and the safety of your children.

Also, it is very important that once the busses are leaving the lot, they are able to pull out quickly. Please do not hold spots for cars, let cars into line ahead of the busses or block busses. Thank you. Your cooperation is seen and appreciated!

Graebner's 50th Anniversary

This year we are celebrating 50 years of Graebner Dolphins! Yes, it is Graebner’s 50th Birthday and we are throwing a party to celebrate the wonderful learning and memories that have happened here at Graebner! You can expect to see much more information to come!

The date of our 50th Anniversary Celebration is May 24 from 5:30-7:30pm. So mark your calendar and spread the word to anyone you might know who attended Graebner as a child because we would love to celebrate with them!

Lastly, if you yourself went to Graebner, please reach out to me! I would love to hear from you, give you a special invitation, and get your feedback! Please be sure to tell me what your favorite Graebner memory was as a student. jami.wood@uticak12.org
