What are human clinical trials?
Human clinical trials are an important part of bio-medical research and are most often used in the development of prescription drugs.
Purpose of trial
The thought is that Non-Alcoholic Fatty Liver Disease plays a key role in the progression to prediabetes in those with a history of Gestational Diabetes.
The investigators want to know if having a fatty liver will be connected with more glucose abnormalities and that a history of GDM will be common in those with NAFLD.
Criteria for participation
To participate you must be/have :
- A pregnant female
- An age between 18-50 years.
- A Gestational Diabetes Mellitus in Pregnancy
The study will take approximately 12-13 months and will take place in Shands Medical Plaza, Florida.
