News from Mrs. Kott
Thank you to those of you that joined us for Davisburg Fall Festival! What a fun family event for all of us to enjoy together. I appreciate all of the work that went into making this such a successful event. Thanks to our amazing Davisburg PTC! We are fortunate to have such a supportive group.
If you have a 5th grader I am sure you heard what a great time we had at camp this week! Such a great experience and so many lessons on teamwork. It was great to see the 5th graders outside of school learning and having fun. Thanks to Mrs. Creasey and Mrs. Strong for all of your work to put this together.
Has your child brought home a “Good Job Being a Bucket Filler” paper? Being a Davisburg Bucket Filler means that you have done something to fill someone’s bucket by: helping, giving compliments, and spreading good feelings. It won’t happen every time, but when students are filling buckets they will earn a Bucket Filler slip from an adult. They write their name on it and bring it to the office, where they put it into Davisburg’s Bucket and get a colorful paper to take home. If you are interested in learning more about being a Bucket Filler, follow the link to the Bucket Fillers website. October is Anti-Bullying Awareness Month. This is a great time to have conversations at home about how to treat others.
As always, thank you for your partnership! We appreciate all of the ways that you support your child to be successful at school.
Truly,
Denise Kott
Halloween & Monster Mash
While costumes are welcome at school on October 31, please keep building guidelines in mind. Costumes can NOT depict violence or violent acts; this includes fake blood, gore or imagery that would not be “G” rated. Masks that can be removed and do not interfere with learning are allowed. All toy guns, knives and swords should be left at home.
Once again this year we will be watching our Y5-2nd graders run their Monster Mash on the back soccer field, weather permitting. If you would like to join in and watch, we would love to have you. The Mash-A-Thon is 2:30-2:50, if it is raining we will be unable to accommodate all friends and family inside for the alternate Mash location.
