6/7 Grade Interim Assistant Principal Ronnie Jenkins

This week, we say farewell to an outstanding Interim Assistant Principal. Mr. Jenkins has once again served as our interim in place of Mrs. Mallory Agee. He is an awesome support to administration, staff, and students. Mr. Jenkins greets students each morning at the busses with a smile. He understands how work with students, parents, and staff in order to promote success. Mr. Jenkins last day with us is Friday October 15. Thank you, Mr. Jenkins!!!! We will miss you!

Assistant Principal Mrs. Mallory Agee has transitioned careers. She has served over a decade in education. Mrs. Agee was very instrumental as she served as an assistant principal at Lincoln Elementary School, served as a teacher, and instructional coach. She knows lots of students and their family from Lincoln Elementary, which has been helpful to me as a new principal in Brunswick County. She also attended Lincoln Primary, Belville Elementary, Leland Middle School, graduating from North Brunswick High School. She will definitely be missed by staff, parents, and students. I have her welcome note and sticky notes of love and support for me as her principal! On behalf of LMS, we wish Mrs. Agee and her family the very best!

On October 18, we will welcome Mr. Shawn Black from North Brunswick High School as assistant principal. Mr. Black will assume the roles and responsibilities that Mr. Jenkins/Mrs. Agee had this year. Mr. Black is no stranger to LMS nor the Leland Community. A formal introduction and welcome will take place upon Mr. Black's arrival.

6th Grade Math

Parents, we are working on a plan for 6th grade math. Ms. Paen has resigned. As a result, we are in need of a math teacher. It is advertised. I have been working with my supervisors to develop a plan until we hire a replacement. I will be working with the 6th grade team this week for input and suggestions.

8th Grade ELA/AIG

Mrs. Rohn will be leaving us in November. She was our 8th grade ELA/AIG teacher. Mrs. Deidre Blanks will be taking the reigns thereafter. She is no stranger to LMS. She is a retired ELA teacher who is knowledgeable in her field.

Career and Technical Education

Mrs. Sotriffer, MS Career Development Coordinator, is looking to recruit you as a guest speaker for our Career Café! If you would like to be a part of our students career exploration, please complete the form below and I will be in contact to let you know more about the program.

Hey Parents!

We would like to begin a PTA this year! Please reach out to Mr. Quinlan if you are interested. I have had one parent thus far to express interest. However, I would really like to have a minimum of 5 parents. This will be very helpful to us as a school.

The Principal's List!

Health/PE Teacher Coach Dean!

Big picture
Guess who made the principal's list this week (10/10)? Coach Jennifer Dean.

Coach Dean is our Health/PE Teacher. She is always willing to help out in any capacity where administration may need support. Oftentimes, we don't have to ask her for help: she just does it! She is punctual, knowledgeable, and solution driven. If there is a problem, Coach Dean has thought about it and provides solution. We love her and love having her on the LMS team. She is a team player, great teacher, and a great asset to the Elective Staff and LMS! Thank you, Ms. Dean for being an all around great person! Your dedication to our students has not gone unnoticed!

Thank you, Coach!

Principal's List Last week: Math Teacher Mrs. Larkin

Big picture

This week (week of 10.3), Mrs. Larkin made the Principal's List! Each time I visit Mrs. Larkin's class, students are engaged. She has great lesson plans and it aligns with her in-class instruction. Students understand her expectations and remain on task. She has her EQ, LT, etc. posted on her board. She is always well prepared for each of her classes.

Mrs. Larkin is a great addition to LMS! Her students absolutely love her and it is very noticeable that she cares about her students.

Thank you Mrs. Larkin for joining LMS and for being an awesome Math teacher

6th Grade Team Shout Out!

I would like to give a HUUUUUUGE SHOUT OUT TO THE 6TH GRADE TEAM! There has been turnovers this year in this team. However, they work together to ensure that students receive what they need each day!

We are down a math teacher. However, administration is working on a plan and will notify all 6th grade parents once the plan is in place. Please feel free to reach out to me if you have questions. -McDuffie
