(Almost)
A novel project by Iman A. Student for Honors English 10 (2B)
If you don't know her, Felica Day is an actress (list shows here) and YouTube personality. Felicia Day's book You're Never Weird on the Internet (Almost) is a memoir about growing up... differently. A home-schooled child who felt awkward in social situations, Felicia Day struggled to find her place in the world, her confidence, and her voice. In this book she recounts her trials, embarrassments, successes, and ultimate lessons that she has learned in her life.
Book Announcement
Felicia Day's book announcement (see video below) is an excellent showcase of her quirky personality which endeared me to her as an actress and writer. The video captures her outgoing nature and comfort with her own fallibility. Spoiler alert: It also tells you one of the main themes! It serves as a helpful introduction to this project.

MY REVIEW
This is where I will be explaining how the writing style, subject matter, and content drive me to rate this book nearly five stars.
Comic Relief
Felicia Day's ability to use humor to communicate challenging concepts is critical to my interest in the novel. Plus, she doesn't take herself too seriously, which is a life lesson for readers.
- Examples of comic relief:
- How does comic relief add interest?
- How does comic relief contribute to theme?
Point of View: First Person Limited
Like any good memoir, You're Never Weird on the Internet (Almost) is written in first person (limited).
- Why does this matter?
- How does it contribute to interest?
- How does it impact theme?
