Mrs. Park's Remote Learners
Update 9/8/20
I Need Your Help!
- Assignments are being completed "hit or miss"
- Assignments are being "turned in" in Google Classroom, but no work has actually been completed/attached or sent in any way
- Assignments are missing or very late
- Students seem confused about what is due and when
- Some students have talked about being overwhelmed by the work
Don't worry! You know me. I always think deeply about things and I have a plan!
Step 1-Know Where to Find Your Work

Step 2-Know How to Do "Things" in Google Classroom
When you are submitting in several different places, it's hard for your child to see where they have "turned in" work and cannot actually see where they have attached the work and not merely clicked "turned in." I have had several students and parents contact me because they weren't sure what assignments were in and which were not. And I think I created that problem by trying to make it easier on you!
So how can we fix it? Well, we will start by attaching and submitting all assignments in Google Classroom. I have created a "I Need Help" board with topics listed that will help you. Videos and links will tell you how to take photos with chromebooks, how to attach photos from phones, and how to submit assignments to Google Classroom. This is also located on the wall of our "cartoon classroom" for the students to click on. The direct link to this "I Need Help" board is listed below. I will add more topics to it as you ask.
Am I still here to help? Absolutely! But I also know the value of step by step directions and videos as you are trying to figure things out (remember, I'm the parent of a remote learning student as well!)
Step 3-Check In With Your Child's Progress (And I will too!)
I have emailed your child and sent you messages if your child had missing graded work. I will be making phone calls this week if your child still has missing graded work.
Please remember that your child's attendance in school is tracked by completion of assignments during this remote learning experience. I will give leeway for the beginning work as we are ALL learning! But this week, I will be closely tracking practice and graded assignments. The work will need to be completed in order for your child to be marked "in attendance" for school.
