Pick Ken's Brain

Over the past couple of weeks, I've been talking to and learning from Ken Smith. He is absolutely brilliant and it's been a pleasure witnessing his creativity and his dedication to the alter of logic. I hope each of you get the opportunity to pick his brain. I hope the image above doesn't leave you with a creepy Hannibal Lecter motif, but one of intellectual transference.

Friday the 10th is our upload deadline for our student data that will become our production system. A huge major shoutout goes to Enterprise Services for their tireless efforts. They've been nothing short of amazing and the District will be grateful for all the backend work that's been done to make the transition less painful.

Granted, it will not be a perfect system day one as there will be some speed bumps. However, we will get there and the District will appreciate the new system.

Board Meeting

Monday, June 6th, 5:30pm

900 North Klein Avenue

Oklahoma City, OK

We don't have anything on the agenda. However, we have several items to be approved on the July 1 Board meeting. We'll have them placed on the Information Agenda on June 27th first.

xdAD Cutover

Wednesday, June 8th, 8am

This is an online event.

Network Services will be looking at transitioning from Visual Casel (our AD account automation system) to CPSI's xdAD product. The online AUP will be posted to the same location. Knowledge transfer should occur shortly thereafter. Additionally, we'll need to update the Knowledge Base.

One of the cool benefits is that Distribution Lists can be fully automated so that Clint doesn't have to manually maintain list membership. This opens a whole new level of targeted communication possibilities.

OUSF Rule Making Meeting

Wednesday, June 8th, 10am

2101 North Lincoln Boulevard

Oklahoma City, OK

A new law was signed by the Governor that guarantees bandwidth credits to all Oklahoma schools, while alleviating the burdensome requirement of counting building credits. A rule making meeting has been set to gather technical requirements from school districts.

For the rest of this month, we get Friday's off. In return, we work 10-hour days. Hopefully, the extra couple of hours will provide you with more time to focus as we work on summer projects.
