THEORY of ACTION
Just a thought for the week....#SelfCare
Gompers Team Members,
Good Day! A bigggggg SHOUT OUT goes to our "Custodial Team and Cafeteria Team", they have been working every day since school closure. Doing "deep" "deep" cleaning and providing meals to the local community. They are on the front lines and in contact with the community, we appreciate all they are doing for our school and students.
Wow.... what a different week as we have moved in "Virtual/Distance" learning in #GATORNATION. This past week, I have been humbled and amazed at your "go-getter" and "we can do this attitude" toward our new learning narrative. THANK YOU, THANK YOU, and THANK YOU for all you do and are doing to support your students and their parents in this "new norm" of homeschooling. This would not work without you. I appreciate and value your dedication to our profession!
I will be joining Google classrooms "as a student" & meeting "virtually" with departments/teachers to calibrate workload, work quality, as it relates to relevant essential standards-based learning opportunities. I will be looking to support those that might need assistance:).
Please, note as we move forward in this new narrative, I will be outlining specific accountability expectations around our time and work as "paid status employees".
Master Schedule for 20-21- I will be sharing the Master Schedule for ES and MS by the end of next week (4/9), maybe even before that. There were several directives/expectations for the 20-21 school year:
* Schoolwide - Intervention services within master schedule/daily schedule
* MS - Elective offerings needed to align with pathways to HS
* MS - Elective offerings needed to build, progress upon each year. Meaning 6th, 7th & 8
* Schoolwide model for enhancing GATE/Differentiation via "Jentry model
* SchoolWide model for SEL as part of the daily program
* Schoolwide RSP model - NO SFS, RSP teachers inside the GE classroom (small group)
* Technology as an integral supplement for "home enrichment/extension" opportunities
Gompers Office Hours- Starting THIS week we will be posting a new school phone number. We are using Google Voice to allow office staff to answer calls from home. Ms. Jeanette, office support staff(sub) will be answering calls "virtually" from 8 - 4:00 Monday-Friday.
Meal Service is continued at Gompers. The new meal time is 11:30-12:30 daily.
I hope you stay well, taking care of yourselves, and finding a way to connect with people you love. The image above is a SELF CARE BINGO card, I challenge you to find a box or multiple boxes that you can check off each day.
I look forward to "seeing" each of you at our Virtual Staff Meeting on Thursday (4/2) morning at 9 am.
