LPS Star Awards
The LPS Education Foundation is pleased to offer a new recognition program called Star Awards!

For a $25 donation to the Foundation, a personalized, color certificate will be presented to your honoree, and they will receive recognition on the Foundation's website and social media platforms as well as the district's social media platforms. The certificate will be personalized with your praise to show this LPS employee how much they mean to you!
Please click on the link below to send a Star Award to an awesome LPS staff member!

Character Trait May...Reflection
A Note from Ms. Stowell
Elementary Support Teacher
The character trait in the spotlight this month is REFLECTION! Why teach children to be reflective? Being a reflective thinker means to think carefully about your own actions. Learning to be a reflective thinker can benefit students academically, emotionally, and socially. It can help them understand themselves better as a learner and student by reflecting upon their strengths and weaknesses. The trait is helpful to understand themselves emotionally and socially with peer relationships by recognizing their ability to show self control, be empathetic and kind to others as classmates and being part of the school community. Learning to be a reflective thinker gives opportunity for students to self assess their progress by applying other character traits too such as MINDFULNESS, RESPECT, RESPONSIBILITY, and GRIT. This process allows one to take ownership and personal responsibility for not only their daily actions but their overall education. Our Roosevelt Tigers are being introduced to activities that will help them learn practical character building life skills that will lead to making positive choices and personal success. Below you will find a few of my favorites… enjoy!

This Months Lunch Menu
As food supply chain issues continue to be problematic in sticking to a menu, please note lunch options may vary day by day. We will do our best to communicate changes.
Free and Reduced Meal Application
While all LPS enrolled students will receive meals at no cost this coming school year, we encourage all families to fill out the Free and Reduced Meal Application every year. This application is critical in determining the amount of funding our district receives from a variety of State and Federal supplemental programs. Please visit the LPS website, go to the Departments tab, and find the Food Service link. Take the time to fill it out today!
