Delta Zeta
Twin Cities Alumnae Newsletter | August 2014
President's Letter
Greetings!
I want to extend my sincere appreciation to all who volunteered at the recent Starkey Hearing Foundation Annual Gala. We had 13 volunteers who assisted with the Silent Auction, Hearing Angels, and much more. Please join me in recognizing Holly Thompson who serves as our coordinator of Delta Zeta’s volunteer efforts with the Gala.
Fall will soon be upon us so I hope you will reflect back on your education, the great experiences which were a result of your education, and take a minute to purchase school supplies for Crest View Elementary. Crest View Elementary is located in Brooklyn Park and currently has approximately 75-percent of their population receiving free or reduced meals so they can certainly use our help! We will collect items at a few of our upcoming events.
We also are volunteering on Saturday, September 27 at a Walk4Hearing. It will be held at Lake Calhoun and supports the Hearing Loss Association of America. If you would like to get involved, please connect with Katie Whitehead.
During the upcoming season of recruitment, please join me in wishing our collegiate chapters’ great success as they share our sisterhood with other women on college campuses across the region. On behalf of the Twin Cities Alumnae Chapter, roses will be sent to the following nearby chapters for Preference Night: Minnesota State University Moorhead (Theta Nu), St. Cloud State University (Theta Mu), University of Wisconsin – Eau Claire (Epsilon Omega), and University of Wisconsin – Stout (Zeta Beta).
I hope you will join us at the Founder’s Day Brunch on Saturday, October 25. It will be a wonderful opportunity to celebrate our sisterhood through delightful conversation, wonderful food, recognition of membership anniversaries, and a raffle to support the Gamma Scholarship. We will also celebrate Paula McQuillen’s many years of service to the Delta Zeta Foundation. Please see Founder's Day details in this edition of the newsletter.
In the flame,
Barb Jones Brotherton
