Your Guide to Grade 2 News
What's happening in the month of May...
Thank you for those who participated in our Earth Day garbage pick up to make our school grounds a cleaner place to play. Hopefully we can all remember to always be citizens of the Earth and make everyday Earth Day.
Be sure to catch the following highlights of the month:
Forest Valley Field Trip
Forest Valley is an outdoor education centre that provides hands-on, inquiry based learning experiences designed to enrich the Ontario Curriculum and connect students with parents and teachers to the nature that exists all around them. The Grade 2's will be going on a field trip to explore the program, "Protecting Animals and The Places They Live." Their goal is to find evidence of animals living in our community and learn that they share the same needs to survive as humans.
National Ballet of Canada
SAC is excited to present the National Ballet of Canada at our school! The performance will comprise of 5 excerpts from various ballets including two from Sleeping Beauty, one from La Sylphide, one from Napoli and a Spanish Dance for the finale. This unique and fabulous ballet experience includes a narrator to provide students with insight as dancers warm-up, apply make-u, etc. providing a glimpse of preparation backstage during an onstage performance; the performance itself is 50 min plus a 10 min Q & A with the dancers.

FUN FAIR 2016
Don't miss out on ourbAnnual Fun Fair, so much to see and do! Activities include midway games, face painting, tattoos, silent auction, photo booth, balloon animals, book sale, candy shack, hamburgers, hot dogs, pizza and multicultural finger foods, how can you resist?! Come one, come all. Festivities begin at 11am and end at 3:00pm.
