High Blood Pressure
By Grace Peterson
How It Affects Your Body
Brain:
Ischemic strokes can be caused by arteries that get clotted when blood is being brought to the brain. This caused brain tissue to die which then causes the strokes. Also since blood stops flowing it to your brain it can cause certain areas in the brain to stop functioning or cause it to stop working overall.
Heart and Arteries:
High Blood Pressure can severely damage your heart and arteries and blood vessels. It can cause you to have heart disease and enlargement of the heart. Your arteries that lead to your heart can get clotted and fail to bring blood to your heart which can then cause heart attacks.
Eyes and Limbs:
Lack of blood flow to the eyes and limbs can cause them to stop working. So when the blood vessels get clotted you can become blind or have major eye issues. Also when the vessels leading to your limbs get clotted they can cause you to become paralyzed in that area and can cause you limbs to overall stop working.
