RMS Weekly Event Calendar
September 25 - September 29
What's going on this week?
I have always heard that it takes a village to raise a child, and I can assure you that it truly does! As parents, we rely on grandparents, family, neighbors, and friends to help us grow our children. However, I also believe it takes a village to educate a student. Although teachers play a huge role in educating a student, many others contribute to the students' personal and academic growth including community members, local agencies, and church organizations. As you see from the pictures below, our students at RMS are afforded powerful learning opportunities through individuals and community partners who are committed to the success of our students. The bottom line is that community partnerships are a vital component of a truly successful school. A huge thanks to all of those who partner with us as we work to educate our students!
Say No to Drugs!
Officer Gomez shares the dangers of drugs with our girls' P.E. classes. We are so thankful for Officer Gomez who partners with RMS to keep our students safe and to educate our students about the dangers and choices they face as young adults.
Germs? Who me?
The Alabama Cooperative Extension partnered with Russellville Middle School to educate the students in Mrs. Agee's classroom about germs and how to properly clean their hands. Talk about an eye opening experience when the students stepped into the Germ Tent to see all the germs that were on their hands!
The Importance of Teamwork!
Our coaches play a pivotal role in the lives of our students. They teacher our students many values but one value they instill in our students is the power of teamwork. Students who are involved athletic organizations are taught the importance of working together and supporting each other. They learn that it isn't about "me" but about "we" and together, we all succeed!
Chocolate Week
Who doesn't love chocolate? We have declared it to be "Chocolate Week" at Russellville Middle School! This week you can look forward to lots of fun and tasty chocolate snacks as we celebrate the great things that are taking place at Russellville Middle School!
AP Celebration
It was an honor to be invited to the AP celebration at Russellville High School as they celebrated the success of their AP program. We appreciate all the things you do each day through our regular and Pre-AP classes to help prepare our students for the challenges they will face as high school students. Your belief in your students is evident and plays a important role in our students' success!
