From the Principal’s Desk
Kia ora koutou,
A big welcome back to our Stanley Avenue School Community for Term 3. It has been amazing reconnecting with students and families throughout the week. I feel incredibly fortunate for winning a Principal’s Sabbatical last term, which provided me with an opportunity to visit a range of schools and see the great things that these schools are doing. Additionally, I was able to reflect on where we are as a school and our direction, which was reaffirming. Another purpose of the Sabbatical was for quality family time and rejuvenation. A highlight during the term was the Byers family ‘South Island Adventure.’
I would like to thank my amazing staff for their teamwork during Term 2. We are fortunate to have the entire staff team that we do. Di Meyler carried out her Acting Principal role admirably with strong support from Chris Finucane as Acting Deputy Principal. One of our strategic goals is to build the leadership capability of our staff, this was exemplified with Angela Valencia stepping up to the Ruru Team leader role and carrying out her duties effectively. To our school community I thank you for your cooperation and support. If I haven't seen you yet, I look forward to touching base with you around the school over the next few weeks.
I would like to thank our parents/ caregivers/ whānau for their attendance at this week's PaCT conferences. Involvement in your children's learning journey is imperative for their success. If for any reason you have not been able to attend the PaCT Conferences, please get in touch with your children’s teacher and we can make an alternative catch up time.
Lastly, we have had a number of new students start this week. We wish you every success at Stanley Avenue School.
