MCA Testing and Breakfast
MCA testing for elementary students in grades 3-6 begins April 16!! Please see below for each grade level testing dates. It is important that students get a good night’s sleep the night before testing as well as a nutritious breakfast. We will be providing all students in grades 3-6 with a FREE breakfast on their testing days in order to get everyone off to a great start!
Dance Party Grades 3 and 4
Thursday, March 29, is our Annual Dance Party for 3rd and 4th grades beginning at 2:15 pm in the high school gymnasium!! Please come and watch these fabulous students as they perform all of the dances they have been working so hard on during phy-ed class. They are so excited to show us their fancy moves!!
K-4 Roller Skating
Our roller skating unit in PE is next week, April 9-13. We look forward to a fun week as we build our skills, confidence, determination and use lots of grit!! Pease check the schedule that will be sent home next week. We would love to have you come and watch your child and if you are able to help put on skates that would be wonderful as well!! Please check into the high school office if you plan to come watch! We love this unit and have so much fun. Thank you Mrs. Bullerman, Mr. Rasmussen, and Mr. Morgan.
Extra Clothes for K-2 Students
Please make sure your child has an extra set of clothes in their locker. This is the time of year when students are playing in the snow and they get wet clothing. Having that extra set of clothes makes the afternoons much more comfortable for them. Thanks!
3rd/4th Grade Track and Field Day
The 3rd and 4th graders will participate in our annual Track and Field Day on Wednesday, May 30. The Minnesota Twins mascot, TC, will also attend that day. You can see TC at the track from 9-11 am.

Congratulations to our 20 - 6th grade students who participated in the 6th grade Science Fair on March 14th! They all did a great job explaining their research data and their results to the judges!! Thank you to the volunteers who participated in the judging, as I know it means a lot to our kids to have you there. I also want to thank Carol Light for organizing the Science Fair and working with all of the students to make sure they were well prepared. Eight students were chosen to represent USC Elementary at the regional science fair to be held on Saturday, April 28 at Minnesota State University, Mankato. Scholarship recipients include: Brennan Anderson, Blake Bullerman, Destiny Chavez, Riley Getchell, Aaron Johnson, Allie Lammey, Elizabeth Meyer, and Dana Ocampo Medrano.
7 Mindsets - The Time Is Now
For the month of April we will be focusing on the mindset called "The Time Is Now". The Time is Now teaches that all your power exists in the moment. You cannot change the past and the future has not happened, so the only thing to do is take purposeful action in the present to create the ultimate life of your dreams.
Jump Rope For Heart
On February 14th, during Physical Education classes, our Kindergarten through 6th grade students participated in a Jump Rope for Heart Event. We were able to raise over $3100 for the American Heart Association. Families and schools are critical links in providing the foundation for cardiovascular wellness in our country. By holding this event at our school each year, we raise awareness about heart-healthy living. And help fund more lifesaving scientific research and critically needed education efforts. Congratulations and much appreciation to all students and families who raised money for the American Heart Association, every dollar counts. Also a big congratulations to our top fund raiser Elijah Sell in Kindergarten ($200.00)!!!
