How Much Water do we use a Day??

In California, an average person uses about 80 to 100 gallons a day. It takes 16.8% of water for people to do everyday tasks such as taking a shower. Also, the clothes washer uses 21.7% of water a day. California uses more water than any other state. We use it for enviormental, agricultural, and urban/residential purposes.

Water Distribution

Water Distribution

The water distribution on Earth shows that most water and the Earth's atmosphere and crust comes from the world ocean's saline seawater, while freshwater accounts for only 2.5 percent of the total. There are also even larger deposits of water dissolved in the Earth's mantle, which are less well understood. Because the oceans that cover roughly 71% of the area of the Earth reflect blue light, the Earth appears blue from space.
