PSAT/NMSQT
All sophomores (and any freshman or junior who registers) will participate in the PSAT-National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test on Wednesday, 10/30. This is an extremely important exam for our students as it provides access to the National Merit Scholarship program and many other scholarship opportunities. In addition, the PSAT serves as a concordant score to the Algebra 1 EOC for any student that did not pass the FSA Algebra 1 EOC in the spring. Please encourage all of our Coyote testers to prepare and do their very best!
Freshmen or juniors that want to register should see Mrs. Larimore or Mr. Copeland in the Media Center. Cost is $23 ($5 for students who qualify for free-reduced lunch).

Have Concerns About a Student? Does a Child Need Tier 3 Support?
Do you have a student who is in need of additional Support?
The CCMHS Student Services Team is a multidisciplinary team including; discipline staff, behavior specialist, school counselors, administrators, ESE staff, school psychologist, school social worker, school nurse, SRO, and SSAP coach that meets every Thursday to review students in need of additional supports. Any staff member may refer a student to the Student Services Team via the mach form link below.
The following include rationale for additional support:
- attendance problems
- academic issues after attempts to resolve
- significant changes in attitude, behavior, or academics
- economic hardships
- withdrawn or isolated
- patterns of behavior inconsistent with school mission and motto
- failure to respond to interventions or consequences even after contact home
Feedback forms for each student reviewed will be shared with staff directly related to the student after review.

Join the CCMHS Team for the Memorial Mile
The Wesley Chapel Rotary is hosting the 9/11 Memorial Mile 1 Mile Run/Walk on Saturday, September 7 at 7:30 am at the Tampa Premium Outlets. The cost to register is $10. Portions of the proceeds will benefit the Rotary Club of Wesley Chapel Scholarship Fund. Last year, two of our graduates, Paige Mulford and Jenny Stinfil, received Rotary Scholarships.
The Memorial Mile is also special because a 9/11 Memorial will be unveiled for the first time during the event. It will be the only 9/11 Memorial in Pasco County. If you would like to support the WC Rotary through this event, register at www.wcrotary.com/911-memorial-mile/
Then email Jen Larimore at jlarimor@pasco.k12.fl.us if you would like to join a CCMHS “Team” to show our appreciation for all that the Wesley Chapel Rotary does to support our school and students. Family and friends are also welcome!

Why a gifted endorsement?
· The gifted endorsement adds value to a teaching certificate.
· Each course provides training specifically tailored for teaching higher ability students.
· Courses support teachers of advanced coursework in understanding the learning style and social-emotional needs of many of their students.
· Coursework focuses on materials and activities that can be used immediately in the classroom.
· Each course earns 60 in-service points.

Coyote Staff Spotlight
Greg Pozun- High School Science
I attended The George Washington University in Washington, D.C., studying Criminology and Naval Science by way of an NROTC scholarship. I was commissioned as a Naval Officer and spent 10 years serving on combat ships in the Persian Gulf, the Mediterranean, and the United States. I had the good graces of becoming a naval instructor early in my career, also preparing me for a future in education.
I am supported by a very generous, loving, and caring family - to include my 2 daughters; Riley and Sydney, and my wife, Kelly. Completing, and challenging our family, is our dachshund, Winston. We enjoy the outdoors, spending time on and below the water, and looking for ways to protect and preserve the environment.
Hannah Bartz- Middle School Social Studies
Blake Morley- High School Math
As for hobbies, I enjoy attending school events that involve my students. Being active in the school community is a major priority for me. When I am not at work, or preparing for work, I enjoy going for a drive, watching movies, or playing games.
