ASVAB Military Test

ASVAB stands for Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery. The ASVAB is a widely used multiple-aptitude test that provides students with information about their current academic strengths and abilities and ultimately aids them as they explore potential educational and career opportunities.


We are hosting the ASVAB exam on December 8, 2021.


If you would like to sign up for our Dec 8th, 2021 test date, please fill out the ASVAB Registration Form. Students interested in taking the ASVAB immediately can contact a local military recruiter who will schedule their test off-campus.

Palomar Application Workshop

Seniors, Palomar is offering an application workshop in-person at Poway High School on December 15th from 11am to 1pm. Fill out our interest survey for more information. During this workshop, students will complete the Palomar application on CCCApply, set-up passwords, activate their Palomar email, review their placement, and apply to Palomar Promise. You will need to bring your social security number and driver's license (if you have one) and your laptop or Chromebook. Questions? Email jbrown@powayusd.com.

Adopt-a-Family Giving

Every year Poway High has staff, classes, even whole departments, who generously donate to the program. Please, do not feel obligated, but if you do want to participate your help is greatly appreciated. Here is the link to the Adopt-a-Family website so you learn how to adopt those in need.

Tutoring Options

Learning Lab in the Library

Free tutoring is available after school in the library on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 2:30-3:30pm. The tutors are PHS students in Peer Counseling and NHS. For more information, see their flyer here.


Paid Student Tutors

We also maintain a list of students who are approved by PHS Teachers to tutor students. Please contact Jaime Brown in the Titan Center for the list.

College and Career Showcase Recordings

Feel free to watch any presentations you wanted to attend but missed. All of the sessions from the College and Career Showcase are uploaded to the PowayCTE YouTube Channel. Build a Tiny House

Get hands on construction experience! Open to all PHS students. No experience required. Potential to earn 2.5 credits. Poway High CTE is offering a 5.5 class to continue building a Tiny House. Complete this form to be considered for our after school Construction Technology (5.5) course held on Mondays and Wednesdays from 4:00-6:00 p.m. at Poway High from November 29th-March 4th (2nd trimester).

SAT/ACT Testing Dates 2021-22

Please note if a test center decides to close, students will receive direct notification from the College Board. Check directly with the test center.


Juniors! If you plan to take the ACT or SAT this school year, please pay close attention to the dates to avoid late fees or missing the test entirely. You can register for the SAT at the College Board website here. You can register for the ACT at the ACT website here.

Schedule Changes

The Schedule Change Request Forms for trimesters 2 AND 3 will be open until December 3, 2021. Please note, changes will not be made after that date. Requests will be worked on in the order they are received and are subject to availability and many classes are completely full.


Requests to change teachers, periods, or trimesters will not be honored.

To find a list of classes with open availability:

- Go to the Schedule Change Form for the trimester you want to change

- Fill out the student information

-Select which class you would like to drop

-Select the class you would like to add from the list of open classes.

Counselor Contact Information

The counselors have open office hours for students at Break, Lunch, and After School. Parents can schedule appointments with their student's counselor by emailing them.

The San Diego Foundation and the San Diego and Imperial Counties Cal-SOAP are teaming up to do Scholarship Information Nights in November and December.
