What is Confucism?

It is a unique teaching that is both philosophical and religious. It is based on moral values or ethics.

When was it founded and who was the founder?

Confucianism was founded in 500 BC. It was founded by Confucius. Confucius lived from 551 BC- 479 BC.

Practices and Beliefs

He thought China was full of rude and dishonest people. Confucianism is based on moral values or ethics. It’s based on respect. Confucius wanted China to return to ideas and practices from a time when people knew their properties in society. Main Ideas are people should be respectful loyal to their family members. Leaders should be kind and lead by example. Learning is a process that never ends. Heaven expects people to behave well and act morally. They follow the Analects which is all Confucius's ideas compiled in one book.

Where did the practices come from?

They go by the practice of Chinese religions Taoism, and Buddhism.
