Reading, Writing and so much more!
Math- Our Ch. 7 test is Friday and the kids were pretty impressed that they have been doing algebra! The next chapter is fractions, so division facts are crucial. We began a new math program this week called Front Row. Students are loving the program! Students can use it at home too! It has a component for parents, too, so you can see how your child is progressing.
Science- This week we learned about the instruments meteorologists use to predict the weather. We also tried our hand at reading weather maps and making forecasts.
Social Studies- We've studied the events leading up to the Revolutionary War and learned about the battles this week. Next week, we will begin our simulation of the war in the classroom- Patriots vs The Redcoats. We will be keeping a war journal to write about our experiences in battle. The S.S. test will be Jan. 30. There are study cards and a study guide to help students review over the next week.
Writing- We are getting closer to the editing process in our Google Docs on extreme weather writing!
Reading- We are continuing to make connections between "The War with Grandpa" and The Revolutionary War. We also continue to expand our vocabulary through content reading in social studies and science.
