A European Country

Spain is located in Europe and it's capital is Madrid. Many people in Spain enjoy watching or participating in football, and motor racing to basketball and bull fighting. Gazpacho is a very famous cuisine in Spain that consists of tomatoes, olive oil, garlic, bread and peppers who are then blended together until silky smooth.

El centro comercial

There are many malls and shopping centers in Spain but one of the better recognized ones is the "Calle de Serrano." This shopping strip is well known for it's luxury designer goods and runway inspired looks.

La plaza

Plaza Mayor is the known as the "vibrant main square" of Madrid, Spain. Many events take place here such as spontaneous Pillow Fight held on November 22. There is lots of wine tasting and tasty tapas that are worth a try.

La escuela

One of the more well known schools in Spain is the University of Salamanca. It is a college located in Salamanca, Spain. It i topped ranked in it's region because of the level of diversity with more than 2,000 foreign students each year. Today, the university is an important center for study of humanities and is particularly noted for its language studies.

El rio

The Júcar or Xúquer is a river on the Iberian Peninsula of Spain. The river runs for approximately 509 km from its source at Ojuelos de Valdeminguete and is 316 miles long.

La playa

The Lanzarote beach is located in the Canary Islands off the coast of West Africa. There is volcanic activity along the beach but it is still very safe and well kept. There are also man beach resorts along the beach that host many events for beach goers.

El cine

Autocine El Sur is one of the many famous cinema theaters in Spain, based in the beautiful city Alicante. Both International and Spanish movies are screened here. Tourists are also provided the choice of receiving program details by email. This theater also boasts of a snack bar and a high-definition digital projection screen.

El parque

The Parque Nacional Sierra Nevada is located in Granada and Almería provinces in south-eastern Spain. The rivers that rise on the north face of the range feed the Guadalquivir basin, the most important ones being the Fardes and Genil. Meanwhile, the rivers that rise on the west and south faces run down into the Mediterranean. These include the Dúrcal, Ízbor, Trevélez and Poqueira, which are all tributaries of the Guadalfeo, which itself rises in the Sierra Nevada, and the Adra and Andarax, with their tributaries. The south and west faces are where you will find the majority of the almost 50 high-mountain lakes that exist in the Sierra Nevada, many of which are also the sources of streams and rivers.

El estadio

Camp Nou is a football stadium in Barcelona, Catalonia, Spain. It has been the home of FC Barcelona since its completion in 1957. With a seating capacity of 99,354, it is the largest stadium in Spain by capacity.

Las montañas

Mulhacén is the highest mountain in continental Spain and in the Iberian Peninsula. It is part of the Sierra Nevada range in the Cordillera Penibética.

The Cathedral of Santiago de Compostela, a cathedral of the archdiocese is in the World Heritage Site of Santiago de Compostela in Galicia in Spain.

La piscina

Grand Hotel Central in Barcelona, Spain is a stylishly decadent infinity pool and bar is on the roof of the Grand Hotel Central in Barcelona. Swimming a length or two and watching a cityscape go by when you turn your head to the side really is an experience.

La bibioteca

The Library of El Escorial, Spain is located in Royal Seat of San Lorenzo de El Escorial, the historical residence of the king of Spain. Phillip II was responsible for adding the library and most of the books originally held within. The vaulted ceilings were painted with gorgeous frescoes, each representing one of the seven liberal arts: rhetoric, dialectic, music, grammar, arithmetic, geometry and astronomy. These days, the library is a World Heritage Site, and it holds more than 40,000 volumes.

El lago

Sanabria Lake is a lake located 8 km to the northwest of Puebla de Sanabria in the province of Zamora, Spain. It is one of the very few sizable natural lakes in Spain.

El bosque

Think of the Canary Islands and you imagine sipping lazily on a cocktail by the pool or getting some serious holiday reading done on the beach. Think again. For a very different Canaries, head over to one of the least touristy islands, La Gomera. Here, you'll find the Garajonay National Park. 70% of which is covered in laurel forest. And when the mist rolls in, there are few more magical places to be on Earth.
