Eagle Eye Newsletter
April 29, 2022
Dear Taylor Students and Parents,
Students, thank you for coming to school and working hard this week. Our 3rd and 5th graders worked hard on GMAS testing and they have another week of testing next week.
This week I hosted a principal resident, Dr. Kenyada Jackson. She is currently an assistant principal at Discovery High School. She was impressed with how kind and friendly our students were and how well the 5th graders run the morning announcements. Dr. Jackson is going to make a great principal.
Next week is my favorite week of the year, because it is a time for us to honor and appreciate our teachers. We will celebrate Teacher Appreciation Week next week. PTA has outlined daily activities for students and parents to honor our teachers. Please see the flyer that is attached to the newsletter.
“A teacher affects eternity; he can never tell where his influence stops.” – Henry Brooks Adams.
Please plan to join our General PTA meeting virtually on Monday, May 2, 2022 at 7:00 PM. The link is attached in the newsletter. This will be a great time to meet our new 2022-2023 PTA board members and hear about all the great things they have planned for next year.
Pay close attention to the newsletter as we approach the end of the year. We have several activities planned for all grade levels. The most up to date information will be in the newsletter and on our website.
Have a great weekend.
Your Proud Principal,
The Georgia Milestones School Schedule
COVID Testing at Taylor Elementary
Collins Hill Cluster schools are offering COVID Testing for Students. Please see the attached flyers for more information.
Next year we will be implementing Positive Behavioral Intervention Supports (PBIS) at Taylor Elementary. The goal of PBIS is to create a positive school climate in which students learn and grow.
As a part of being a PBIS school, we have developed a school-wide recognition program for staff and students. Students will earn "Eagle Cash" for demonstrating positive behavior choices that can be exchanged for various rewards or items. These rewards are a way to publicly acknowledgement our students who model our Taylor Expectations by Taking Responsibility, being Engaged, and Showing Respect.
To maximize the impact of our PBIS efforts, we are asking for your help in the form of donations to build our inventory of PBIS student rewards. If you would be willing to donate items from our Amazon Wish List (linked below) your contribution will be very much appreciated.
This family-friendly event is almost here! Besides running or walking, there will be music, face painting, outdoor games, prizes...and all participants ages 18 and under can board one of the Book Mobiles and choose a new book to take home! Register or donate today at bookmobile5k.com and email Jan Wilson with any questions!

Student Medication at School
- Administration of prescription and over-the-counter medicine (even for a short period of time) is discouraged. Parents should check with their physician regarding the need for medications to be administered during school hours. Medications prescribed for three times daily often can be given before school, after school, and at bedtime.
- All medications, both prescription and over the counter, must be accompanied by the Administration of Medication Request From and brought to the school clinic by an adult.
- All medications must be in the ORIGINAL CHILD PROOF CONTAINER. Prescription medications must be in the labeled prescription bottle. Pharmacists can give a duplicate labeled container with only the school dose. Medications stored in envelopes, baggies, etc., will not be administered.
- ALL MEDICATIONS NEED TO BE ADMINISTERED ACCORDING TO DIRECTIONS ON LABEL.
- Medications must be picked up at the end of the year, or the school will dispose of them
**It is the responsibility of the parent/guardian to inform school of any changes and update medication forms.
