PTO News
AUCTION/CARNIVAL: The day we've been working so hard on is nearly here! We are really excited for this event. We have over 200 items up for bid, 20 carnival style hands, some inflatables, a treat walk, and two food trucks ready to see you Saturday from 4-7pm!
If you did not preorder wristbands, they will be available at the door ($15/ child aged 5+, $7/ child under 5). If you did not request a bidder number, but see something you'd like to bid on when you get there, stop by the check in station and they can get you a bidder number as well.
There are still some volunteer spaces available. This is the perfect opportunity for older siblings and grandparents to help out while you shop! You can also volunteer for a slot and still have time to shop. All Auction and Carnival volunteer spots are here.
We will also have our normal Treat Walk station! We are seeking treats for this particular game. Sweet treats, salty treats, small toys, etc. are all welcome! Treats should all be dropped off on Friday at the school, preferably during set-up Friday evening, between 4-7pm. Treat Walk signup genius is here.
TEACHER and STAFF APPRECIATION WEEK: This week was also Teacher and Staff Appreciation Week. Each day, the PTO did something for the staff, with the help of our Amazing Spencer families! Thank you so much to everyone who contributed to this weeks treats! They were very much appreciated!
SENIOR SURVIVOR: Each year, Brighton High School does a Senior Survivor Week in which teams of Seniors compete with each other to raise the most money for a given foundation. This year, there are 8 teams who will fundraise throughout the day, have competitions throughout the evening, and sleep over at the high school for a week. This year's foundation is Fund-a-Life. The teams are currently taking orders for Senior Survivor shirts. If you are interested in purchasing one, you can do so at Kensington Valley Varsity before May 1st.
During the week of May 9-13, we will be placing grade level buckets out for coin donations to help the seniors in their fundraising efforts. If you wish to participate, your students can bring change that week. This will be a grade level competition among all schools - ie 3rd Graders at Spencer, Hawkins, Hilton, and Hornung will all be counted together. More information to follow.

Note From the Counselor
Counselor Corner! Well, we made it to the final stretch of the year! The last few weeks, when the sun is shining and energy is high! And after so many months of hurdles and challenges, it is time to celebrate all that we accomplished and overcame during this school year. The Elementary Counselors would like to take time this month to celebrate our students and highlight their amazing strengths. We plan to take time with classrooms to focus on lessons missed at some other point in the year or revisit specific topics that need a refresher. We want to end this year on a positive note and recognize how truly resilient our students are, and we hope that you take some time at home to do this as well. Thank you for the amazing support from our staff and parents as we worked to connect with and support all of our students this year. We are already working towards our plans for next school year and look forward to expanding our avenues of support. More Resources: We also have our BAS Elementary Counseling website for ideas and resources to be used at home! Mrs. McKiddy Spencer/Hornung
