Burma Refugees

History

1962- In 1962 the "leader" of Burma was overthrown by his own military force who change the name of the country to Myanmar.

1988-After the 1998 pro-democracy uprising, 1700 Burmese students and political activists fled.

1988-On August 8, 1988 troops came roaring in with guns running into crowds of men, women, and children. The troops began a four day massacre and killed more than 10,000 people.
