Mott News

From the Principal

We are so excited to announce the roll out of the remote learning plan! You should have heard from your child's teacher by Friday regarding the format that he or she will use to provide instruction for your child while they are at home. If you did not, please reply to the Mott News email so that we can make sure that information gets to you.

The district has prepared paper based learning packets to support learning for students that do not have adequate technology access. The paper based packets will be available starting Monday, March 30th. Here is a link to the locations where you can pick up paper based learning materials. http://www.pfisd.net/Page/7672 This is also where you can pick up free breakfast and lunch for your child. All PfISD students are eligible. Your child does not need to be present for you to get their free breakfast and lunch. PfISD has provided a remote learning website with links to sites and skills for the kids to work on. The site can be located here.

Your classroom teacher will be your first contact for any instructional support or questions. They are available following the protected time mentioned in Dr. Killan's email: Monday-Thursday 9-12. We will be scheduling campus planning meetings for the afternoons and on Fridays. Please be patient. The staff will respond as quickly as possible but they are figuring out how to work in this new environment, too. They may not be able to reply immediately even during that window, as many parents might be reaching out to them at one time.

Help your neighbors stay informed

We have many email addresses and families that are on this email list, however, if you hear that someone is not receiving my emails or district emails, please send their email address and name to me at tammy.rebecek@pfisd.net . Spread the word! The more informed we are, the better!

Trouble Picking Up Food or Packets From One of These Locations?

Please reply to the Mott News email. We will contact you to help find a solution so that your child will be able to get their meals and/or paper based learning.

If you know of someone else who might be having difficulty going to pick up the food or paper based learning, please let us know as well.

Electronic Device Access

If your student does not have access to an electronic device or Internet, please use one of the links below to apply for technology assistance.

Morning Announcements on the Mott Facebook Page

Morning announcements are a big deal at Mott. We love to start our day with the pledges, some fun, reminders, etc. We have found a way to continue that tradition within our current situation. Morning announcements will be video taped and put on the Mott Elementary School Facebook page at 8:00 a.m. every school day. Tune in then, or watch them later. We start tomorrow, March 30!

We are going to celebrate Virtual Spirit Weeks! We would love it if your child would participate! If they do, we encourage you to post pictures on the Mott Elementary Facebook page. It truly will brighten everyone's day to see your darling children enjoying the spirit week. The Mott staff will be the most appreciative!

Our school is participating in a creative fundraiser with Art to Remember that allows you to purchase keepsake products customized with your child’s art. There are over 50 products and many are less than $15. These make great gifts and a percentage of every purchase goes right back to our school. Click on the link below and enter the online order code shown on your child’s order form or to search for your child’s artwork. Then, have fun shopping!
