CELC News & Updates
CELC Families,
We have a busy and exciting few weeks ahead of us! We are gearing up for the Halloween Parade, Parent Conferences, Lunch with a Veteran, and the Turkey Trot.
CELC students will participate in our annual parade around campus on October 31st. Costumes must be school appropriate and may not include weapons or blood and gore. Masks may be worn during the parade but not during the school day. Parents are invited to stay and enjoy the sights of our lil Cubs. The parade will begin about 9:15 a.m. PTA is planning our Turkey Trot that is scheduled for November 17th. Please see more information below. We will be holding three different times for the trotting.
Parent/Teacher Conferences are scheduled for the week of November 13th. TK and K students will be released at 12:15 p.m. M-F to allow time for teachers to meet with each parent. Teachers will send out more information and appointment times. They look forward to sharing your student's progress and reviewing their first trimester report card.
Mark your calendar for our Lunch with a Veteran event. Cubs are encouraged to invite their favorite veteran to join them for lunch on the lawn on Thursday November 9th. Stay tuned for more information and times.
Here are a few updates to help keep you informed:
- Thank you to everyone who donated candy for the SHES Carnival. It was a huge success!
- Did you know that kids 12 and under get free admission to 50+ museums in October? Check out opportunities or free family fund at https://sandiegomuseumcouncil.org/specials/kidsfree/.
- Please use the front gate for entering and exiting the campus. the side gates are for employees only and must remain closed.
For the safety and security of students and staff, gates are locked during school hours.
Students are expected to follow school rules at all times. Please help support safe, responsible, and respectful behavior while you are on campus with them before and after school.
- Please send your student to school each day with a backpack, refillable water bottle, a healthy snack, and a lunch (unless they are getting a cafeteria lunch).
Before and after school care is available. Please see the flyer below or contact Aimee Hatfield, AUSD's ESS Coordinator, at ahatfield@alpineschools.net if you have any questions.
