Re-Entry! Class assignments and important schedule change
ALL SCHEDULES, BOTH IN PERSON AND REMOTE WILL BE 8:10 - 2:10 AT EDMONDS ELEMENTARY! This is a change from what was communicated regarding remote learning schedules.
Please fill out the attestation form EVERY time it is sent to you. Be sure to do so prior to your student getting on the bus, or by 7:15 whichever is sooner.
Grades 3-6 will have an opportunity to return to school after spring break. Families will be notified of class placement/ teacher information tentatively by April 2nd. There is no guarantee that students will have the same teacher. More detailed information will be forthcoming.
Please keep watching for both district and Edmonds Elementary communications. Here is a video from our district regarding general re-entry procedures: Edmonds School District Stage 2 Re-entry. We will continue to share Edmonds Elementary specific procedures as we adjust to Governor Inslee's Proclamation. You will continue to receive communications from Edmonds School District regarding all Re-Entry plans. Here is a link to the most recent communication.
Some additional information for in-person learning:
- You will receive a digital form from the Edmonds School District called an attestation in your email each day. This must be completed and submitted EACH DAY by 7:15am in order for your student to be admitted to their classroom. This is a step that is required by the Department of Health and the district. The attestation is required to ensure that students are not sent into our school community with any symptoms.
- Due to health and safety guidelines, Parents/Guests/Visitors will not be allowed past the main entry without a previously scheduled appointment AND the completion of an attestation form. We really can’t wait for the day when this isn’t necessary!
- In person students will remain in cohort groups for class, lunch, and recess.
- Breakfast and lunch will be available and will be eaten in the cafeteria/gym in cohort groups.
- No snacks will be allowed during the day (per bargaining agreement)
- Recess - students will remain in cohort groups in designated play areas and may have access to playground equipment rotating basis. Equipment will be cleaned.
- BUSES will be available for those eligible for transportation
- We ask that families try to use the same mode of transportation at the end of the day for each day their student attends to help us with our schedule and also to keep our staff and students as safe as possible.
- Supplies - all classroom supplies will be provided for students returning for in person, except their backpack and water bottle
- Water bottle - per safety guidelines, our drinking fountains are turned off. Water will be available, but it is recommended students bring their own water bottle
- Chromebooks District leadership requires that students bring their Chromebooks to in-person learning days.
Kindergarten and 1st Grade In Person Learning Family Information Session
In -person Kindergarten and First Grade Families will receive an invitation with a zoom link.
If you are unable to attend, a summary of the presentation and Q & A will be shared. You are always welcome to call us!

A message from our SeeSaw Folks
Around March 17-22 your SeeSaw will be affected by changes.
Families: As we transition from our current classes to our hybrid and remote classes, you and your students will notice a few changes in Seesaw.
New (additional) classes for K-2 homeroom and PE/music/library will appear in Seesaw by Thursday, March 18th. Students’ current classes will still be available, and they should continue to access their usual Seesaw classes in the same way they normally do through March 19th.
As of March 20th, students will only see their new classes. They will not have access to any prior classes or to any of the submissions they made in prior classes.
K-2 students and families will need to access the new Seesaw classes starting on March 22nd.
Students who are in hybrid classes may begin to see an A or B in front of their name in Seesaw. Teachers will be adding the A and B so that they can easily see which students are in the A and B groups.
Families see all classes that their student has ever been in, and they are able to download the student’s Journal if they would like to save their student’s submissions.
If your student does not see new classes in Seesaw by 3/22, they will need to clear the cache on their Chromebook. Click here for directions.

Picture Retakes
Hello,
Retake day is here! Firefly Images wants to share with you our very last opportunity for pictures at your school this year! We are so excited to be back in your community one last time. This is a by appointment only picture day, so please use the link to sign up for a time slot. This picture day is open to those who need a retake and those who are coming to the camera for the very first time. We want to see everyone’s smiling faces at our camera, so no purchase is necessary.
Date: Wednesday, March 31st
Location: Edmonds Elementary School
Once again, we will be set up socially distanced. We will be masking up, so we ask that you do the same until the moment we take that picture. We will be following all COVID protocols for this activity and continue to have a perfect safety record this year.
If you are getting a retake, don’t forget to return your complete picture package to the photographer in order to complete your order process.

Retake of Digital Images? Tell your photographer.
First time to camera? Once again, just let your photographer know.
And don't forget to bring your smile... We could give you one of ours, but you look much better with your own smile on!
Thank you!

Yearbook on sale
Hello Everyone!
Are you thinking yearbooks? We are! From strict remote learning, to some schools alternating “A” and “B” students, it has been nothing short of a year of uncertainty. One thing is for certain though – Yearbooks are happening, and you can order yours now! We are working hard to create fun and unique yearbooks this year. Below is the link to our quick and easy order form. This yearbook will be one-of-a-kind so don’t miss out on this opportunity!
The process is easy and takes no more than a couple minutes. Remember to double check that your school’s yearbook is selected when checking out! Follow the link at the end of this message to order your yearbook.
To make these yearbooks special, we would like to ask for your help! Yes – YOU! The most vital tool to keep us safe this year has also become one of the most simple and customizable fashion accessories. We would love to see your favorite and most stylish masks in a Mask Fashion feature page. So, pull out the camera, capture a nice image of your student wearing their favorite mask and submit it to us here at fireflyyrbk@comcast.net - This opportunity will expire once we have enough pictures for the page, or we hit the deadline of March 3 rd, whichever happens first. Be sure to name the file with your student’s name and the school they attend so we know what book to put them in! The image should show above the student’s head down to the mid-chest, we will crop it from there. Keep the background simple and be sure that it is a JPG and not too dark or too bright. Firefly Images appreciates all your help in making this yearbook the best it can be!
Thank you,
Firefly Images
Tech Support
Edmonds Tech Orientation
Contact: Sarah Luczyk
The Libraries and Instructional Department and Technology Department are pleased to offer video training and a hands on Canvas course for families new to the Edmonds School District as well as other families that may want an overview of our online instructional tools. The links to the orientation video, Canvas course, and other helpful materials can be found on the ESD Learning Resources website or the Canvas Family Resources website.
The Canvas course was created to help new students navigate access to their first day of school online and will cover topics such as Gmail, Google Drive, Chromebook basics, Canvas/Clever (for Seesaw), Skyward, Edmonds Bookmarks, and Zoom. We are excited to share this with them and others who could benefit from it.
A special thank you to Sarah Schumacher and Kim Zimmerman from Meadowdale Middle, who partnered with us to develop these valuable resources!
