Take A Vet to School Day - Speakers Needed: November 8, 2019 7:30 am – 10:00 am
CMS is looking for speakers for our 11th Annual Take a Veteran to School Day. We love all veterans -- those who serve or have served. A veteran will be assigned to a classroom to speak for 20 minutes followed by a 10 minute Q and A. Veterans may bring photographs or artifacts. Active duty is asked to wear their uniform. Speakers are invited to join us for breakfast and a presentation at 7:30am in Granzer Hall. Please email Kathleen.Cotten@coronadousd.net if you or someone you know would like to speak in a classroom. Please send the speaker’s name, service, email, phone number and mailing address.
Great California Shake Out: 10/17/2019 at 10:17 a.m. On Thursday, October 17th at 10:17 a.m. our school, along with thousands of others, will participate in “The Great California Shake-Out” drill. This practice drill will give our students & staff an opportunity to practice how to protect themselves during an earthquake. When the alarm sounds on Oct. 17th, teachers will give directions to “Drop, Cover, and Hold On,” an action that can save lives and reduce the risk of injury. After the drill, teachers may follow-up with their individual classrooms about earthquake safety. Please discuss your earthquake readiness plans at home as well. Please visit: www.shakeout.org/california/ for more information.
Grading Period 1 ends on Friday, October 25: Please remember that although the grading period ends on Friday 10/25, teachers are still in the process of scoring work until Thursday, Oct 31st. Final/official progress report grades will be available for viewing on Synergy on Friday, November 1st.
