Week at a Glance

April 27-May 1

It's hard to believe that this Friday marks the start of May! Time sure does fly by!

I enjoyed the TinCaps game Friday night. My sister and nephew came up for the game and Zach had a good time. He especially enjoyed running the bases after the game, and in his words, "That was incredible!" It was a beautiful night to be sitting out at game especially since Mother Nature cooperated and kept the rain farther north. Glad the TinCaps won too! :-)

There is a good chance they will be done testing earlier than 10:15 a.m.; however, let's plan on moving the 2-hour delay schedule time for 3-J PE and 5-N art by 5 minutes and make the start time 10:20 a.m. to be sure.

  • STUDENT HANDBOOK: I have a meeting later this week regarding student handbooks. Do you see anything that needs to be changed/revised? If so, please let me know. Thanks!
  • SPED POSITION: Interviews for the special education position continues this week. We are hopeful that after this round we will have found an exceptional candidate to join our staff.
  • TECH USAGE: I have seen positive growth in the use of technology in our school over the course of the year--both in frequency of use and the depth of use. Your efforts in incorporating technology into lessons in a meaningful way are appreciated! Thanks, too, to Lance for providing us tech coaching and support!
  • STAFF APPRECIATION WEEK: Get ready to head back to the 80s next week for Staff Appreciation Week! Lots of fun surprises have been planned. A few of the surprises/celebrations are: PAC will be providing a breakfast Monday morning for staff (bagels, muffins, juice, etc.) and Wednesday I will have a party for staff after school with snacks and activities including a photo booth. Like totally say, Cheese! :-) Wednesday is also a special dress up day for staff only--no kids! Dress in your favorite 80s attire! Think neon! Think Preppy popped up shirts! Think bangles, big hair, big shoulder pads, parachute pants, rolled jeans, and leg warmers! Oh, my! Prizes will be awarded for the best dressed 80s style staff members at our party on Wednesday. Can't wait to see what you wear!
