The Fauve Movement
It started in the early 20th century, which is also known as the 1900's. Henri Matisse started this movement. The paintings expressed pleasure, joy, thoughts, feelings. They had nothing to do with political statements or opinions. The main concept was that people could find away to express there thoughts and feelings without being told that they can't.
Contributions and Major Artists.
Henri Matisse was the main starter of the Fauve movement some of his followers were Andre Derain, Raoul Dufy, Maurice De Vluminck, and Georges Rouault. They supported Henri with all of his choices and opinions through the 9 years of the Fauve Movement.
