Cupcakes, crafts, a visit from Santa, amazing a cappella Christmas songs....All were part of our Elf on a Shelf Preschool program this week. Huge thanks to Ms. Wagoner, Mrs. Hurley and Mrs. Jenny for their planning and prep to make it happen. Sarah and Bethany Vance sang like angels. Our littlest learners and their families had a nice visit at MCE....Building those connections early.
All Hail the Mail Merge Queen! (aka Mrs. Chandler)...She worked after school til almost 7:30pm to begin production of student goal-setting tool "Scorecard" for our students as they begin MAP next week and continue common assessment work. Each 2-5th grade student will have their very own booklet complete with prepopulated MAP/common assessment results and student-created graphs to help visualize progress. Mrs. Walters worked for several evenings to input data and Mrs. Chandler zipped it into her template. Thank you for your techie know-how and your work ethic, Ladies!
Grateful for the festive decorations that create holiday spirit and cheer all around the building! Classroom doors, common spaces, bulletin boards...all are intentional, kid-centered and meant to welcome our kids. One of my favorite things in the whole world is watching the twinkle of Christmas tree lights and I know our learners appreciate the care you have taken to make things nice for them.
Shout out to Ms. Kingsbury and the MCE Academic Team! They have been practicing diligently to prepare for Governor's Cup later this spring. We hosted a practice match vs. cross town rival Williamstown tonight and there was lots of teamwork in action. Kudos to Mrs. Turner, Ms. Jones and Mr. Hamer for helping to officiate the meet and to Mr. Zepf for setup assistance. This team has so much enthusiasm and energy. They are driven and want to achieve. Fun to see them grow and glad for the adults who took the time to help the team.
Business note from PLCs earlier this week...If you use YouTube as a source of background music, pull up another image/ppt slide/bell work screen....freeze the image...then open the website without displaying the visuals from YouTube. Want to be aware of banners, images and posted comments that are not school appropriate. Thanks for your help with this...Want to avoid sticky situations and keep our content kid-friendly.
Great teamwork in lots of areas this week at MCE. Thank you.
