"A Sound of Thunder" Analysis
By: Paige Wessel
Summary...
A sound of thunder is a story about safari hunters that basically go back in time with a time machine. The main character is probably Eckels which was a safari hunter until he jumped off the path and killed a butterfly which we was only so posed to kill animals with red on them like the T Rex. So Mr. Travis (safari leader) got mad at Eckles and shot him because he got frustrated because he was only so posed to kill animals with red on them, but since he was scared of the T Rex he jumped off the path and killed a butterfly.
Story analysis
There are some very significant parts of this story such as when Eckles jumped off the trail and Travis shot him. This shows different prospects of how their characters are determined that one part of the story shows that Travis is set in his ways because in the story it says, "If you disobey instructions, there's a stiff penalty." This shows that Travis is stuck in his ways because dying is a pretty stiff penalty. It also shows what Eckles personality is like. This part of the story shows that Eckles is willing to disobey the rules even if he has to pay because obviously when he went off that path he knew that there was going to be trouble. This can also relate to me in the real world. Lets say the teacher says that if we play a game during class then we will get a cit mark, well kids do it anyways knowing that there will be consequences, but they do it anyways.

This picture shows 3 men going on a safari and killing animals just like the story
T-rex
This is a picture of a t-Rex which relates to the story because it is during the part when Eckles gets scared of it and jumps off the trail then Travis kills it because it has red.
