Highlights and Recognition

Dear Families,


Each month we strive to meet our mission of providing a caring, challenging environment where dedicated educators prepare students academically, socially, physically and emotionally. Here are a few ways our Tigers ROARED during the month of February.


  • Congratulations to Mrs. Sally Riley for being named Test Teacher of the Year for 2021.
  • Congratulations to Mrs. Jennifer James for being named Test Rising Star of the Year for 2021.
  • Congratulations to Mr. Michael Morris for being named Test Support Staff of the Year for 2021.
  • Congratulations to Ms. Jenny O'Brien from Boys and Girls for being named Test Friend of Education for 2021.
  • Our students have earned over 430,000 LiveSchool points since the beginning of the school year. Our Tigers keep making positive choices each day.
  • To date over 350 positive office referrals have been issued to our students. #tigerup
  • The Kiwanis Club of Wayne County provided vision screenings for our 5th and 8th Grade Tigers. Thank you for your support.
  • Even with multiple snow days and delays our Tigers continued to make REAL and substained academic gains on IXL. Keep up the GREAT work.


As we move into the month of March we look forward to many more positive academic and social experiences for all our Test tigers! #weRtest #tigerup

9th Grade Choices

During the months of February/March our 8th grade Tigers will begin scheduling their 9th grade classes. The team at RHS has developed a series of Flipgrids to introduce the many course and club offerings they have to select from. Please take a few moments to watch the videos below. Our counselor, Mr. Tucker is here to provide helpful advice as students move towards their freshman year.

Canvas for Families

Richmond Community Schools uses Canvas as our learning management system. Now that our laptop roll-out is complete you will want to follow your student in their Canvas courses. Here is a guide to all things Canvas through RCS. If you have any questions please do not hesitate to ask.

If you have not please consider signing up for the LiveSchool app during the 2019-2020 school year. This is a critical part of our PBIS (positive behavior intervention and support ) Plan.
