Pony Camp Progress
It was so fun to meet students at Pony Camp on Friday. Students moved through three GMS stations and two STEM sessions to get ready for 6th grade. While in the STEM sessions students were able to complete a design challenge and learn how to access their Google Drive on their digital devices. Students came home with instructions on how to access their drive, plus an "assignment" for the weekend. (We realize this may not be completed, but wanted to give them a reason to be on their device and get used to using their login) We will provide more detailed assistance next week. Here is a link to the help sheet: Pony Camp Digital Session
Connect to the Curriculum-The First Week
Welcome to 6th Grade! We know you are nervous for your child to start middle school. It can be a hard transition to move from the safety of elementary school to the larger campus. We promise to help them as much as possible with this move. We also promise to make sure that they are being challenged while gaining independence.
This first week back in school will be about learning the routines, understanding what STEM is all about and establishing STEM Academy culture. To do this we are diving right in with a Project Based Learning experience. It will prove to be an exciting and challenging way to start. We are looking forward to see what they create!
