Saving yourself

Saving youself
After going through the horrors of war it's hard to actually save yourself.
"The drugs were wearing off . I craved cocaine and marijuana so badly."
"We got upset day by day and, as a result , resorted to more violence."
Drugs were used
The drugs messed with the kids heads, they had no control of what they did when they were on them.
When the kids got saved it was already to late because, drugs were already their daily routine.
Haunted by the memories
Some of the kids were far gone because of all the things they've seen.
They lose whats left of their innocence.
Losing hope
Every time they were attacked they basically had to start over.. and soon after they realized things were not going to go back to the way they were, they soon lost hope in almost everything.
The similarity I found between the article and the book was that all the kids who were victims of any war they were in, are far gone when they are found and the help that programs offer can only go so far, and then the kids have to allow themselves to heal in their own way because they all experienced the horrors in different ways we will never understand.
