Band of Warriors Start Off Strong
The Band of Warriors have kicked off their season with a strong start, already accumulating awards and accolades. On Saturday, September 15th, the Band of Warriors competed at Lawrence Central High School, Indianapolis, and finished in 2nd place, just 0.625 points behind the class winner, Angola High School. In addition to the close 2nd, Scottsburg was awarded Best Music, Best Percussion, and Best Color Guard.
This past Saturday, the Band of Warriors traveled to Floyd Central High School for competition and had a much improved performance. Unfortunately, the rain throughout the day forced the contest to be an indoor stand-still performance, meaning no marching would take place. Scottsburg had a much improved musical performance and were awarded for doing so. The Band of Warriors received 1st place in their class, Best Color Guard, Best Percussion, and Best Drum Major. They also captured top visual and general effect scores in their class, but those were not awarded out as trophies for each class. Scottsburg also had the 3rd highest score overall for the contest that featured 22 bands. Percussion tied for 2nd out of 22, and color guard finished 3rd out of 22. The band will travel to Springs Valley tomorrow evening in hopes of continuing their strong start to the season. Please come and support the band! They take the field at 6:30 pm ET at Springs Valley High School in French Lick, IN.
Congratulations to the students, staff, and directors on a great start to the season!
