Indian Land High School - December Edition
ILHS hosts District Media Specialists
The Lancaster County Media Specialists converged at Indian Land High School on November 3 to talk about the state's Read to Succeed initiative. Plans for the district Read-In were also discussed. Mrs. Alston from ILMS helped host the meeting. The media specialists meet every month at different schools around the county in order to stay abreast of technology initiatives and professional development.
Infographics with Mrs. Jamieson's class!
The media center partnered with Mrs. Jamieson's Foods 1 classes to create Infographics about their journey to create vanilla ice cream. Students kept data as they followed the recipe. They then came to the media center to use the Chromebooks in order to use Piktochart.
Make a Change by Giving Change
Students donated extra change in November in order to help students pay off fines. Students are allowed to use up to 30 cents per week until the Make a Change Campaign runs out of funds. In the spirit of giving this holiday season, we hope you will take advantage of this service to lower your fines! Happy Holidays!
An Apple A Day!
The Indian Land High School TeenLAB (Teen Library Advisory Board) led the way in thanking our teachers in November. Members channeled their inner kid to make hand print turkeys for a teacher that has been an inspiration to them. Mrs. Bryant, Mrs. Chapman, and Mr. LeRoy provided apple-themed baked goods to share with the faculty on November 23. We hope these treats brightened your day as we say 'Thank You' from the TeenLab and Media Center!
