When your students are absent - DoJo parents with a math video from Great Minds (Eureka) and encourage them to watch during their absence!
Your Brain is a Muscle - Be sure to refer back to this - so that students know that when things get hard, they are simply making their brains stronger if they persevere. They can't grow their brains without struggle! CELEBRATE when students find something hard - this is their/our opportunity to grow them!
Be sure to be posting weekly on DoJo - sharing out units of study, examples, pictures of students working, ways in which parents can support their child at home!
Coaches Corner
Hopefully the Whole Group Reading Look Fors form was helpful to reflect on your whole group reading block.
The next look-for form we'd like to focus on is Whole Group Comprehension and Text Reading Look-Fors. As a reminder, this came from Mel's walk-through form for principals. We've adjusted it into a reflective form that is meant for teachers to be able to reflect on what you're doing well, what you'd like to improve on, and what you have more questions about. Let us know if you have any questions.
Both Certified and Classified Teachers/Para Professionals - please be sure to ensure that if you leave and you are responsible for a group of students you have plans for your sub.
