Storey Spartans Weekly Update
September 20th - September 24th
Principal's Message
Hello Storey Families,
Students will return to school on Tuesday, September 21st. Please remember school begins at 8:25 am.
We want to recognize the start of Hispanic Heritage Month which started last week. National Hispanic Heritage Month traditionally honors the cultures and contributions of both Hispanic and Latin Americans.
Also a friendly reminder, morning supervision and breakfast begins at 7:50 am. Please do not drop your children off before 7:50 as there will not be adult supervision available prior. When your child arrives, please direct them to either line up to eat by the cafeteria or stand in the line waiting to be lead to the blacktop area. Students are not to be running and playing in front of the school prior. We want to ensure the safety of our kids.
Storey Spirit Wear is now on sale. A flyer will be going home with your child tomorrow. If you would like to purchase an item please return the flyer to the office or your child’s teacher. Exact change is necessary as the office will not be able to make change. Spirit Wear sale will run from Tuesday September 21st through Friday, October 1st.
Lastly, don’t forget. Prior to coming to school Monday morning, please utilize the procedure for our COVID self-check. If you child is showing any symptoms, please keep them home and call the office. We all want our kids here at school, however right now we do need to be very cautious for the safety of everyone. So again, thank you all for following the district COVID self-check guidelines
We look forward to a great week. Thank you for your support of Storey Elementary. And remember together we are Spartan Strong!
Respectfully,
Mrs. Shirley
Principal

- Stress affects everyone.
- Not all stress are bad.
- Long-term stress can harm your health.
- There are ways to deal with stress.
- If you are overwhelmed with stress, consult a health professional.

Here at Storey, our teachers use mindfulness programs such as Mind Yeti and Class Dojo Mindfulness to help students deal with different stressors. In order to learn how to be calm, focused, and make better decisions for the self and others, mindfulness teaches our students to be more aware of their thoughts and feelings in the moment. However, mindfulness can help adults too! I encourage every parent to practice mindfulness with their children at home. You can access lessons through the following links:
