Have a great week!

Katie Booth, Principal

A Message from Mrs. Booth

We had another great week at Silver Springs! I was able to visit almost every classroom this week to read the book titled, I Am Courage: A Book of Resilience . It was the very best part of my week. We are looking forward to building upon the momentum we started last year and continuing our work growing and developing leaders who have a growth mindset. This book reminds us that we all have courage, we all need courage, and we can all conquer anything when we persevere and we are resilient!

We are looking forward seeing everyone and showing off our new renovations this week at Open House!

It's going to be a great year full of fun!

Be well,

Katie Booth

Arrival and Dismissal in the Carpool Lane

We are really getting in the swing of things during arrival and dismissal! Great work to all for learning the zipper merge and being patient as we got adjusted to a new routine!

Please click here for a map of the arrival and dismissal locations.

Video: How to Merge

To ensure the car loop works efficiently, effectively and safely we need you to do the following:

  1. Form TWO lanes as you enter the parking lot, to keep cars off Silver Springs Drive.
  2. MERGE alternating lanes when you approach the dumpsters. Please watch this video: How to Merge

  3. Pull ALL THE WAY forward in the drop off/pick up lane..
  4. Try to stay BUMPER TO BUMPER in the loop, don’t leave space between cars.

Thank you for your grace and patience as everyone learns the proper procedures for utilizing our loop.

Transportation Update - Route G

As the Transportation Office attempts to reduce bus delays and improve service in the midst of the driver shortage, effective Monday (9/20/21), there will be some bus driver route assignment changes. Students affected by these changes will have a new bus driver and a different bus – however, these changes will not affect the location of your students’ assigned bus stop, or their assigned pick-up and drop-off time. Your student’s bus stop remains unchanged due to these bus driver route assignment changes. MiStar has been updated to reflect these changes.

Silver Springs - Route G will now be Route Q

Again, please note that these changes are not affecting any student bus stop or pick-up/drop-off times.

Please contact the Transportation Office at 248-465-2070 if you have any questions. Thank you for your cooperation.

COVID Safety and Mitigation Plans

As we come together in learning this year, it is important to remember to perform at-home self-monitoring using the COVID-19 Daily Student Symptom Screening Tool. This screener serves as a daily reminder that children who are exhibiting symptoms of COVID-19 (or ANY illness) need to stay home from school. This is an important measure that will help prevent or reduce the spread of COVID-19 in our schools. We appreciate everyone’s cooperation in using this screener each school day. In addition to the daily screener students and staff are required to wear masks while indoors.

The NPS 2021-22 COVID-19 General Mitigation Response Plan outlines the multiple layers of COVID-19 safety measures being implemented across the district to support the health and safety of all students and staff. School principals will share specific building procedures with families. Processes are in place at each school to teach and/or reinforce safety measures with all students. The Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) document answers additional questions you may have as you and your child are preparing for the start of the 2021-22 school year.
