March/April

Spring is Here!

This month has brought sunshine and a sense of excitement into our classroom. We finished in the Read to the Final Four in fourth place which is still amazing to me! Our class of 11 has surpassed expectations. Also, we had iRead this month and will continue to prep for iLearn (April). Please, know iRead is your students first introduction to state testing. This year has presented many challenges and we are proud of ALL their achievements. Enjoy the pictures below as we finish this year out strong.

Blessings,

Mrs. Laura Adams

Math

We had return of the math centers this month! The students were so excited. So far we were able to dive into fractions and apply our knowledge with hands on activities. We will continue with division centers and review for state testing. Multiplication folders will also be returning. If you have the chance at home to review multiplication facts 1-10 please do! Repetition is key when memorizing their facts.

Science/Social Studies

Science: this month we focus on our solar system. We are in the process of making our own mobiles. Next we will focus on weather. Please, be on the lookout in folders for a cloud project!

Social Studies: we will finish the year focusing on communities and basic economic systems.

Bible-Easter

Bible we have deepened our knowledge on the miracle of Jesus healing the blind man.

We have also focused on the TRUE Easter story. The students have really enjoyed looking at the timeline of Holy Week.

ATTENTION

Please, check your student's classroom binder nightly. A lot of important information is being missed in folders. As a reminder students homework sheet should be signed every evening and Acts forms every Friday to be returned Monday.

Friday packets are also in their red folder each week. This will avoid any surprises at report card time. It also helps as a reminder to your student they need to be working on their AR reading nightly. These study habits will only enhance their ability to work independently as they grow older. Thank you for supporting your students.
