UpNext Text Messaging for Seniors!!

PSAT/NMSQT - 10/19/2016
Hopefully all students already have a College Board account as all Michigan students took the PSAT 10 in April. With a College Board account students can track their progress on the tests and can also link their scores to Khan Academy for more personalized practice. Juniors will take the Official SAT in April! While October scores will not be sent to colleges, it is the only opportunity to qualify for national scholarships.
We will have pregridding sessions held during school for students to bubble in their information for the test in the weeks prior to the test. Dates will be announced soon.
If you have any questions regarding the test students can check in with their counselors (Mrs. Gohl or Ms. Wilk) or their Integrated Studies teachers.

MAJOR OF THE MONTH
Aerospace Engineering
The University of Michigan offers an internationally-recognized undergraduate aerospace engineering program that ranks No. 3 among public institutions in the nation by US News & World Report.
We are consistently among the top Aerospace Engineering programs in the nation and attract some of the brightest students both nationally and internationally. Because the department is part of a large research university, it offers many interdisciplinary research opportunities for our undergraduates. The department's clear vision and the unusual breadth and depth of the undergraduate program are important features of our commitment to undergraduate education.
As a student, you will find that our department is a friendly place, with a diverse and enthusiastic group of students, faculty and staff who call the François-Xavier Bagnoud (FXB) building and its modern laboratories and computational facilities their "home." Students team together to work on a broad array of aerospace and other engineering projects. Click here to see first hand what it's like to be a student in our department.
ACT and SAT Fee Waivers
You can register to take the ACT at www.actstudent.org and SAT at www.collegeboard.org.
Changes to the FAFSA® Process for 2017–18
SUBMIT A FAFSA EARLIER: Students will be able to submit a 2017–18 FAFSA as early as Oct. 1, 2016, rather than beginning on Jan. 1, 2017. The earlier submission date will be a permanent change, enabling students to complete and submit their FAFSAs as early as October 1 every year. (There is NO CHANGE to the 2016–17 schedule. The 2016–17 FAFSA became available Jan. 1, 2016.)
USE EARLIER INCOME AND TAX INFORMATION: Beginning with the 2017–18 FAFSA, students will be required to report income and tax information from an earlier tax year. For example, on the 2017–18 FAFSA, students (and parents, as appropriate) will report their 2015 income and tax information, rather than their 2016 income and tax information.
