Miles of Smiles
What a wonderful week to be a Hillcrest Educator! Our entire staff was showered with love this week! My favorite was probably watching students put little treats in each staff member's "buckets". Your children were so excited to give :)
Thank you to your amazing PTO for pulling this off! Thank you to Angela Paap, Dave MacCudden, Andy Vossekuil, Kim Smith, Nicole Zeroth, Marnia Schatzmann and Ashley Vaughn Stroebel. Thank you to Texas Roadhouse, Walgreens, Casa Noble, and all of YOU!
A message from Ms. Bye - A HUGE THANK YOU from this grateful art teacher! I am so moved by all the families that reached out and showed their appreciation this week. It is such a wonderful community here at Hillcrest and I feel so lucky to have the opportunity to create art with all of your amazing artists!
Ms. Bye
A message from Ms. Cosson - Thank you so much for all of the gifts, goodies, and treats you gave me this week! Your generosity, support, and kindness are so greatly appreciated! Thank you!
A message from Mrs. Theime - I'm so blown away by everyone's generosity! You are all so sweet for thinking of me!

Elevate and SDW AODA Committee will be hosting two, 45 min VIRTUAL Parenting to Prevent Substance Abuse education sessions. The first one will focus on substance use among teens, how to spot it, and how to talk to your kids about it. The second session will be more district specific and will review district policies, what happens when a student has violated the drug/alcohol policy, what happens when law enforcement is involved and the student may get a ticket, etc. from differing perspectives. Please see the flyer to register.Change for Change for Orangutans
The Hillcrest Elementary third grade students want Hillcrest to help save the orangutans! Orangutans are almost extinct because people are taking away their habitats by cutting down trees. These trees are used for paper as well as making palm oil plantations to produce goods such as peanut butter. We can all help by bringing in change between Monday, May 3rd through Monday, May 17th. All donations will go to the World Wildlife Fund towards a symbolic adoption of a wild orangutan. Our goal is to reach at least $55.00.
